Not all of Tanzania's most beautiful natural experiences require physical exertion or a safari vehicle. Our Soft Nature Walks are gentle, unhurried, and deeply sensory — perfect for travelers of all ages and fitness levels, including families with young children, older adults, and anyone who simply wants to move slowly through a beautiful landscape and notice everything.
These walks take place in scenic, relatively safe environments: the lakeshore and acacia woodland of Lake Manyara, the mangrove boardwalks and coral rag forest of Zanzibar, the Marangu village trails on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, the crater rim of Ngorongoro with panoramic views over the entire conservation area, and the forested banks of rivers in Arusha National Park. Our nature walk guides are expert naturalists and birders — they will introduce you to tracks, insects, plants, and birds that most visitors walk straight past, creating a rich and intimate connection with the natural world. No previous experience is required. Walking shoes and a camera are all you need.
